Vaccination Programs

This page focuses on low cost vaccination programs for Pets — dogs and cats who live with families.

Why Vaccinations Matter

Vaccinating your pets isn’t just about protecting them — it helps protect our entire community. Core vaccines like rabies, distemper, and parvo or panleuk prevent dangerous, sometimes fatal diseases that can spread quickly among animals and even to people. Regular vaccinations keep pets healthier, reduce emergency vet costs, and help shelters and rescues save more lives by lowering disease outbreaks.

A few simple shots can keep your pet safe, healthy, and home where they belong.

Having said that, we also understand that vaccinations need to be affordable and accessible for everyone.

That’s why we’ve gathered a list of low‑cost vaccination programs that help Unicoi County pet owners keep their animals healthy without straining your budget. If you also need low cost Spay/Neuter options, please visit ---> Spay/Neuter Programs

If budget isn't an issue, consider getting your pets vaccinations through a Veterinarian.

Core Vaccines

So, what vaccines do most pets really need?
Below is a quick guide to the core vaccines most veterinarians recommend to keep dogs and cats protected. Always check with your vet to tailor vaccines to your pet’s age, health, and lifestyle.

Rabies and the Law in Tennessee

By law, all dogs and cats six (6) months of age or older in Tennessee must be vaccinated against rabies.
This first rabies shot must be given by or under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian.

After the initial shot, pets must receive booster vaccines as required (usually every 1–3 years, depending on vaccine type). Rabies vaccination protects your pet, your family, and the entire community — and it’s required to comply with Tennessee Code § 68‑8‑103.
