Pet Food Programs

Unicoi County residents want to keep their beloved pets at home and out of shelters — even during hard times. Thanks to donations and volunteer support, supplemental dog and cat food for families in need are often available. Supplies vary, so we recommend calling ahead to check availability.

  • Call ahead or Message to confirm they have pet food in stock.

  • Bring proof of residency and any required documentation, just in case it's needed.

  • Ask if there’s eligibility criteria (some require income verification or proof of financial need).

  • Many do monthly distributions—check dates and hours.

While you should never put pet food out for wildlife directly, organizations like Wynnwood Wildlife Rescue in Elizabethton can often use donated pet food to care for injured or orphaned animals. If local pet pantries are fully stocked, consider reaching out to them instead.
