Construction is complete! In September 2024, Hurricane Helene devastated our community and destroyed the Unicoi County Animal Shelter building (all animals were saved!) Since then, the county, town, and city worked together on plans and funding for a new facility and as of January 2026, the construction is complete! Shelter location remains at 185 N Industrial Dr, Erwin, TN and plans to reopen to the public in April 2026.
